Description:

This zif connector retains the ribbon cable on the joy-con rail and to the joy-con motherboard, which allows the joy-con to communicate with the Switch console when attached to the console.  

The flip lock can commonly become broken, which prevents the ribbon from making a connection to the mainboard, and ultimately results in no connection between the joy-cons mainboard and the joy-con rail. 

Typically the fragile plastic locks are almost impossible to replace, so removing the zif connector and soldering a new one in place will normally be the only option.

By repairing the connection between the joy-con mainboard and joy-con rail it should resolve communication issues when attaching the joy-con onto the Nintendo Switch console. 

Please note: There can be multiple possible causes of a fault with a joy-con and we cannot guarantee that replacing this part will fix the controller, please consult an experienced technician if you're unsure.
