This fantastic development tool is the perfect companion for any budding retro game developer, allowing you to run your latest creations on real hardware, the RetroHQ Lynx GameDrive cartridge is like a micro sd adapter providing a memory card slot to acccess your library directly from the console, wherever you are.

You can also use GameDrive to load license free open source software, with the renewed interest in retro gaming hardware, there are more and more open source projects being game available by enthusiasts for you to enjoy.

To play software on the Lynx console, they must first be loaded onto a micro SD card using a PC or Mac capable of working in Fat 16 or Fat 32 format.

Any memory card up to 32GB in size can be used with the Lynx as long as it is FAT16 or FAT32 formatted.

Usage instructions:

Insert the memory card into the LynxGD and power on your console. The cartridge will boot to the software title selection screen.

The game selection screen displays the folders and recognised files on your memory card, allowing you to navigate the folder structure and select a title to play.

The button functons are shown in the bar at the bottom of the screen. If a software title has preview images associated with it, you can view these images with the screenshot functon. When launching a software title, if it has any cheats available, these will be selectable from the software trainer screen. If the software supports save data, it will be saved automatically in a file named the same as the software title ROM image, but with the extension E2P.

Firmware Updates:

Periodically you may wish to check for firmware updates. To do this, press the OPTION1 button when instructed to do so as the cartridge is booting.

A screen similar to the initial firmware setup screen will be displayed with QR code and website address.

Either scan the QR code or visit the website manually to check for a firmware update.

Updates to the firmware will be available from the RetroHQ website if required.
