Features:
- 3D printed macro faceplate for Game Boy Macro mod.
- Manufactured in house using high end printers
- Features a textured finish giving it a premium look.
- Requires hardware mod of DS Lite.
- Faceplate only, no other parts included.
Description:
This is a 3D printed Face Plate that is used to convert a DS Lite into a GBA Macro after doing the hardware mod.
We produce these in house using high end printers, a textured finish is embossed into the surface which gives it a more premium factory like finish.
The faceplate reuses original screws from the DS Lite to secure it in place, care should be taken when screwing 3D printed plastics as they are not as strong as ABS injection molded products.
You will need to modify your DS Lite to remove the top screen and add a 330ohm resistor, plus install an alternative Switch speaker, which needs you to remove the top screen connector from the motherboard to make more room (resistor and speaker not included)
Helder game tech offers a Macro amp product which does the hardware mod for the DS Lite to Macro conversion, it also increases the audio output, this mod part is available in store seperately.
This Face Plate is based off of the work of Georgio Mosqueda who has the files on his github: https://github.com/gb9k/GameboyMacro, Helder and HumbleBazooka have fixed and ammended the design further to add in missing screw holes and adjust the design.
The faceplate has cut outs for the D-pad, action buttons (ABXY), start select, speaker (Speaker grill) and LED indicators.
This particular macro faceplate design is configured to have a larger opening that can support the Obirux glass screen lens cover. It has also been designed to use a Switch replacement speaker in the top left corner of the faceplate, the top screen connector will need to be removed to make room for this unless you try to locate an alternative speaker somewhere else that does not have the speaker grill (may impact audio volume by doing so).
This is an unofficial reproduction novelty item, this item is not manufactured by, approved, supported or endorsed by Nintendo.
