PS4 controller grips, silicone thumbstick caps, full controller sleeves and anti-slip grip options for the DualShock 4.
Browse PS4 grips by type
- Thumbstick grip caps. Silicone or rubber tops that push onto the original DualShock 4 sticks for grip and shape
- Full controller sleeves. Slip-on rubber covers across the whole controller body
- Anti-slip grip tape. Adhesive grip pads for the rear handles
The DualShock 4 thumbsticks have a slick rubber top and the controller body has a smooth plastic shell, both of which can get slippery during long play sessions, especially in warm weather. Grips offer two routes: stick-top caps that change the shape and grip texture of the analogue sticks themselves, or full sleeves that cover the whole controller for a softer feel and better grip overall. ZedLabz stocks both options.
Quick picks for DualShock 4 owners
- Easy entry point: a pair of silicone thumbstick grip caps. Push on in seconds, change the stick height and grip texture without affecting any other controller feel.
- The everyday upgrade: thumbstick grip caps plus a full silicone sleeve, full grip refresh for a controller that sees daily use.
- The competitive setup: taller-profile thumbstick caps for finer aim control, plus rear grip tape for the bottom half of the controller during long sessions.
Picking the right grip type
- Thumbstick grip caps: the most popular grip add-on. Push-on rubber tops that change the stick shape (concave / convex / domed) and add grip texture. Reversible without tools.
- Full controller sleeve: slip-on silicone cover across the controller body. Improves grip, protects the shell from scuffs, slightly thickens the controller in hand.
- Anti-slip grip tape: adhesive grip pads or tape applied to the rear handles. Permanent until peeled, gives the strongest grip improvement of the three options.

PS4 grips. FAQs
Do thumbstick grip caps fit over the original DualShock 4 sticks?
Yes. Standard DualShock 4 thumbstick grip caps are designed to push directly onto the existing stick tops, no need to remove the original rubber. They add a small amount of height (typically 1-3mm depending on profile) and change the grip texture.
Will PS4 grips fit a DualSense (PS5) controller?
Thumbstick grip caps are often cross-compatible because the stick tops have similar dimensions, but check the product page for the specific cap. Full controller sleeves are not cross-compatible, the DualShock 4 and DualSense have different body shapes and sleeves are moulded for each.
Concave or convex thumbstick grips, which is better?
Personal preference. Concave (dished) caps cup the thumb and feel more locked in, popular for shooters. Convex (domed) caps give the thumb more freedom of movement, popular for racing and platformers. Some sets include both shapes so you can mix per stick (e.g., concave on the right for aim, domed on the left for movement).
Do silicone sleeves affect button responsiveness?
Silicone sleeves are cut around the buttons, sticks and trigger zones so the controls themselves stay exposed, no change to feel. They do add thickness to the grip area, which most users find improves comfort during long sessions.
